THE GATEWAY CITY

Idaho Falls, Idaho is known as the gateway city to the most beautiful places in the US.

Idaho Falls, Idaho is known as the gateway city to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, the Snake River Greenbelt, the Idaho National Laboratory, and one of the most family-oriented communities in the Mountain West.

The city sits at the center of East Idaho's Snake River Plain, surrounded by a region that draws outdoor enthusiasts, agricultural families, scientists, and people relocating from higher-cost western states looking for affordability without sacrificing landscape. The Snake River runs through the heart of downtown, with six miles of riverside greenbelt that locals use year-round. The Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, one of the most recognizable landmarks in the region, sits on the riverbank and is visible from most of the city's west side.

Idaho Falls is also the home base for the Idaho National Laboratory, one of the U.S. Department of Energy's largest research facilities, which has drawn a significant professional and scientific population to the area for decades.

In recent years, Idaho Falls has been known for something else: growth. A professional hockey franchise, significant commercial development, and a steady influx of out-of-state buyers, particularly from California, Utah, and Texas, are reshaping the city faster than most people outside of Idaho realize.

Connie Clawson has lived and worked in Idaho Falls for over 23 years. She knows every corridor of this city and the land around it.
